Traditional POC cTnI measurements have resulted in limits of detection that are on the order of ~1 ng/ml. The most advanced laboratory-based instruments yield LOD values 50× or more lower than this. Indeed, there is a strong drive to increase sensitivity of this test, raising the bar for what is required as a prerequisite performance for a POC cTnI test. Sustained efforts have led to the development of an advanced P-BNC immunoassay for this gold standard of AMI diagnosis marker.
