It increases strongly during the cross-linking process due to the de-agglomeration of CB aggregates. After completion of cross-linking reaction CB aggregates reagglomerate causing a decay of resistance. The electrically stimulated shape-memory (SM) behavior was found to be strongly dependent on the extent of electrical resistivity and the rigidity of CB network, which is formed during compounding and subsequent cross-linking process. The effect of amount of peroxide and cross-linking conditions

like time and temperature on resistivity and the related SM behavior was characterized. (C) 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 120: 2138-2145, 2011″
“Apocrine carcinoma arising from the apocrine sweat glands is a rare cutaneous malignant tumor which occurs predominantly in the axilla of elderly individuals. The typical histologic features selleck compound of apocrine carcinoma is

within a well developed glandular lumina with abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm and evidence of decapitation secretion. In rare instances, predominant signet ring cell features in apocrine carcinoma has been reported. We experienced a case that occured in the right axilla of a 59-year-old. Histopathologic examination showed a solid tumor that extended from the upper dermis into the subcutis, with a delicate infiltrate of epithelial cells. The cells had granular amphophilic cytoplasm, predominantly showed distinct signet ring cell morphology, and

were strongly positive for epithelial mucin. Both lysozyme and gross cystic disease fluid click here protein-15 were identified in the tumor cells. We AZ 628 ic50 diagnosed this to be a case of primary signet ring cell apocrine carcinoma of the axilla after several immunohistochemical and clinical evaluations.”
“To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of lactate dehydrogenase (LD) isoenzyme activity profile in uterine fluid and transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) in detection of endometrial cancer in women with postmenopausal bleeding.

Prospective controlled clinical study.

One hundred twenty postmenopausal women with one or more episode of vaginal bleeding were studied. Endometrial thickness was classified as > 5 mm or < 5 mm on TVS. LD isoenzyme activity profile was described as normal or abnormal. LD isoenzyme profile was subsequently related to histopathological diagnosis.

Endometrial carcinoma was found in 10 out of 120 patients (8.3%). Sixty-seven patients (56%) were found to have endometrium > 5-mm thickness on TVS. LD isoenzyme activity profile was abnormal in 22 (18.3%) cases. Histopathological diagnosis in these cases revealed 10 endometrial cancer and 12 benign endometrium. LD isoenzyme activity profile has 100% sensitivity, 90.1% specificity, 45.4% positive predictive value, 100% negative predictive value, and 88.6% accuracy.
