In a Danish multicenter randomized clinical trial, conducted from January 1998 to December 2000, 547 participants were randomly allocated to either the early intervention program group (OPUS) or the TAU group. The 20-year follow-up assessments were completed by raters who were masked to the initial treatment. A sample of the population, consisting of individuals aged 18 to 45 years experiencing a first-episode schizophrenia spectrum disorder, was selected.
